Madagascan Marbled – Polyspilota Aeruginosa

1x L3 Unsexed Nymph

Key Characteristics –
• Ideal for beginners.
• Medium/Large Mantis
• Females are usually 9cm and the males are smaller.
• This mantis has a stunning marble effect on the wings when adult. They tend to be an assortment of muted browns and greens.
• Fascinating to observe. Aggressive towards prey. Tolerant of correct handling. Always handle cautiously and never leave a child alone with a mantis.
• Under no circumstances should these be kept communally.
• These will thrive on green/bluebottle flies, locusts, roaches and moths after the 4th Instar. They do not require a feeding schedule as a thinner abdomen will indicate hunger and a satiated mantis will look plump. Mantis can comfortably hunt prey up to 50% their body length.

Environment for this species-
• Madagascan Marbled are best kept at 20-24oC, allowing for a slight drop during the night.
• They require a humidity of around 60-80%. This can be achieved by misting with either spring water or tap water treated with our Hydropure solution. A thermometer/hygrometer is advisable for monitoring these levels.
• They will drink from the droplets of moisture in their enclosure, separate water is unnecessary.
• All mantis require an enclosure at least 3x as tall as they are long. This is to allow ample space for molting so please bear this in mind when adding décor to enclosures.
